Snow falls on the Midland Railway (dial up beware!)

It’s snowing in eastern Kansas today, so Carrie and I went for a ride down to Baldwin City where the Midland Railway ends. The Midland is a tourist line run by volunteers. Here’s some neat shots of their equipment in the snow:

Their railroad would be a great short line to model. It runs about twenty miles and has several business which were originally served by the line. For more information go to: http://www.midland-ry.org/

Thanks for sharing the photos. Seeing RI630 reminds me of the early 70’s when that unit was assigned to commuter service between Joliet & Chicago. At that time it was painted with an EMD 50 Anniversary paint scheme.

Here is a picture of 630 I took at Joliet.

Another shot of 630

Dragenrider, your photos are poetry. Thanks.

Makes me fell cold an’ lonely. When you hear that lonesome whistle blow…

It brings to mind fireplaces, hot apple cider, a blanket and falling asleep in the recliner. [zzz]
