Here’s a shot from a few years ago of me clearing snow from the roof of our garage:

Bob, that is cool. Being from socal I have never seen that. How do you get the blower on the roof? And in the picture did you already do on top of the house?
GFR, I feel for you. I have CA sunshine in a can, but everytime I send some out, the rain returns here. Tired of having a Florida swamp for a back yard, so if all goes well, I will send a can your way. [:)][:)][:)]

I know the feeling, though we haven’t had any snow here in a couple of weeks now. This winter has brought the most snow our way in all the 12 years I’ve lived here, and more than most winters I can remember when I didn’t live here. During one week right after Christmas we had about 4 1/2 to 5 feet of snow, and we’ve had snow several more times since then. We’ve also had quite a bit of rain (from the warmer storms), so all the snow we’ve had has melted.
Fortunately, though, since I am in SoCal, the sun does come out and warm things up, so our snow doesn’t usually last too long. With the weather we’ve had the last few days, it feels like summer is not far off. Hopefully the rest of you (at least those that want it) are not too far from it.
All snow welcome here - we’ve not had any really good coverings in recent years. I have a couple of photos in a local history book showing the main street during one of the hard winters of the 1940s - snow was at least 7ft deep and people were having to dig trenches through it to get around!
Snow…um… is that that, like, whitish powdery stuff that some guys shake over their, like, mountain tops in their layouts? So, what’s the problem…not sticking in one place enough? [(-D]

Sun Sun Sun, ugh!!!, I’m sick of bright Sunshine, spring time temps in the winter, swamps, hurricanes or the threat there of, dumb, stupid, tourist clogging up the roads, McDonalds, Burgerking, and KFC. Gimmie a nice North Country Winter for a change. Lake Placid, here I come[:D][:D][:D].
Hey, Fundy, that is a greaaatt photo!! How did you do it?
Here’s one I took the same afternoon as the previous one:

I like the snow… up tp a point. Here in Winnipeg, the snow arrived last October 3 and it is still here under all that subsequent falling. We expect it to still be here in June. UGHH TOO LONG
The weather you described is what caused my parents to move from Chicago to California in 1963.
It will pass. . .
Snow? Snow means Camping Weather! Skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, sleding, ice skating, snow man building, warm fires at night, crisp winds, rosy cheeks (I’m starting to make myself sick here). [soapbox] Up here in the Finger Lakes, we have a saying. “If you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute…”
This is some of the partly cloudy we had up here earlier this winter.
When we get a couple of feet of this stuff, we just push it aside and keep on going. What do you people out in California do with 20" of Rain??? (My nephew out there says to find the shallow puddles!) [:D]
Snow? Send some our way!! In easstern Washington & Northern Idaho we have a shortage. Only 25% of normal snowpack, and farmers & power operators are woried. Gov. to (or did, I’m not sure) delclare a “drouth emergency”. Ski & Winter resorts closed early, etc. Haven’t had anything to speak of since Christmas.
I grew up in ALASKA. Most depressing Christmas I ever had as a kid was in Southern California. Stop & Think: while you sit and stare into the fire in the fireplace with you best friend (Snow bunny or Pooch, - take your choice) the poor schmo in SoCal is out mowing his grass!! [8D]
Don’t get me wrong - I model Snow scenes as well as Desert scens. A number of my family are “snowbirds” - they migrate to sunny climates during the winter. As I age, I may join them!
