I know you guys are sick of answering this question but what do you use for snow on your layouts??? I am thinking about just covering the whole thing with white snow and I am not sure what i should use.
Check out the December issue of CTT, they did a test of several methods & products. For my Christmas layout I painted the surface, homasote, white and covered it with a snow blanket before putting down the track. I’ve seen better but it works for me.
See a picture of Buckeye’s garden railroad and you will see snow. Good question. On my old layout, I stayed away from it except for a tall mountain top.
I used a product called “Soft-Sno”, which I bought at Christmas-time from Orchard Super Hardware a few years ago. This product is a one inch thick blanket of cotton material. I would think you could find something similar at a craft store.
Nice!!!
I saw the pic before the snow fell on the deck…LOL
I was wondering if cotton batting would work fine. I just
didn’t want to use anything that might harm the engine. If I
am careful I guess anything like that would work.
