The indifference toward railroads is concerning. Had funds been needed to repair every highway bridge and pave all the way to Snowflake funds would gleefully appear.

There still seems to be some rail served industries around Snowflake when you look at Google Earth. The tracks themselves seem to be in very good shape. That’s an example of what the differences between a federal backed loan and a commercial loan could be, Plus at some point in time there’s always a possibility of the loan being forgiven. Although there is no way in Hell a commercial bank would.

Steven Berg there is a regulation about Warren Buffet (BNSF) owning more than one railroad at a time. Remember when the BNSF had to sell that short line in southern OR? Medford or White City I think
