Snowy Railroading (5 IMG)

Hey Gang,

I won’t tell our eastern friends that it’s going to be 60ºF here in Denver today. Oh…wait…sorry about that!

Nevertheless, I’d like you to know that I feel your pain. Just remember my old tip that the worse the weather, the better the photo ops. Here’s a set of images taken on Boxing Day, 2013 when I was back in Illinois. I’ve got a few more that I’ll add to this set once I get them processed.

As always, comments and critiques more than welcome!

Despite the fact that you warned us the pictures were from Illinois, the first picture made me think of eastern Colorado.

Chris, as always, cool photographs.

I would be interested in seeing a picture or two before and after “processing.” It would be a learning experience for me.

NIce, Chris!

Now I’m cold again… [bow]

Pun intended? [(-D]

The shot with the pavilion framing the train is another great example of stepping back a bit and using existing elements to set a picture apart.

It was a lot warmer when I was in Rochelle…

I knew there must be a reason those photos looked familiar…I didn’t recognize Rochelle in white!

Fond memories brought back. Thanx Chris!

Glad it was 75 in the lower left corner of the country today or these pictures would have been a little uncomfortable to look at.

Picture #1 looks like it should have Steve Buscemi burying some ransom loot somewhere in the foreground.

Picture #2 implies from the lack of an operating barbecue that it was pretty cold there. The framing works wonders for this image.

Picture #3 will not be going into any MOW recruiting literature, I’d bet.

Picture #4 is just “brrrr” and “double brrrr” to me.

Picture #5 is a delightful change of pace; there’s that “eye” working again.

Thanks for sharing, Chris. As always, the pleasure was all ours.
