Well there Mr. Policeman I wasn’t speeding, I was blowing my horn at the private crossing, I put my brakes on, and I had my running lights on. And the cops go OOOOOOhKkkk. SSShhhh don’t tell the cops the work train is supposed to yield at crossings, the sight triangle was 80% missing, the road was dog legged and humped, we was going 40 mph over the speed limit, our headlights were burned out, and the brakes failed. Don’t want to break our perfect 1000 batting record of NO faults on collisions in our SELF reporting.

LIVINGSTON – A man was thrown from his vehicle and severely injured when a train broadsided his pickup truck west of here Wednesday morning.
“He was ejected,” said Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Mount, who was investigating the collision at a railroad crossing on O’Rea Creek Road
The train was a small one, a “helper unit” that consisted of five locomotives, but no freight cars. It was headed eastbound down a substantial grade when it struck the Chevrolet truck traveling south across the tracks.
The man driving the truck was the only occupant. His name still had not been released by late Wednesday afternoon because his family had not been notified, said MHP patrolman Dan Amundson.
Immediately after the wreck Mount said the driver’s “condition was grave.”
The man was taken to Livingston Memorial Hospital and stabilized in preparation for an air-ambulance flight to Billings.
The train demolished the passenger side of the pickup, scattering parts of the vehicle and other debris as it shoved the vehicle 60 yards past the crossing.
The train stopped about 500 yards past the wreck.
A Montana Rail Link crew was operating the train and MRL spokesman Lynda Frost said Wednesday the accident remains under investigation.
The train speed limit in that area is 35 mph. A tape that monitors locomotive speed has been removed from the train and will be reviewed, she said.

Last Christmas, I was taking Amtrak to visit my son and his family for the holidays. We had just left a station in Indiana and as the car I was in was passing through a crossing, some idiot in a pickup barreled through and hit the car. Held us up for two hours. So who’s fault do you think that was?

So let me get this straight. The whole incident was recorded on video tape (Rember video tapes dont exsist! We made that up!), The train was crawling at 35 Mph (For 5 locos thats pretty slow), He could not hear 5 locos (He must have been deaf), And to top it off he was ejected from his truck due to no wearing a seat belt (what else). And some how this is ALL the RR fault? The scary thing is that someone can justify your actions coming here posing harassing threads DIRECTLY in the face of hard working men & woman of the Railroads! Just how low can on scoop!?! We must deal with such an anoyance on a daily basis? IGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!
As I have noted before we dont care to be bombarded by your harasing technics!

so what is your point. the railroad pulled the tapes so they could be downloaded and made avalible to the fra. not a issue here the railroad also showed that the speed was 35 mph not a issue most of the public dont have a clue as to what track speed is. and the speed could have been a 35 mph speed restriction on a curve not the straight track. also the cops even said there was no vision problem the guy just didnt stop. he got hit. not a signal crossing so you should stop look listen and live. there was nothing out of the ordinary on the acident and the cops have no jurisdiction on the rails anyways that belongs to the federal guys. and 5 engines still wont stop like a car. or even a truck. still no issue. So to tell you the truth train “1” driver “0” if only he would have stop looked listen and lived… then the cops wouldnt have had paper work the crew wouldnt have had paper work and the railroad woould have had no paper work. and you would’nt be sitting there complaining about something that had nothing to do with you. The way i see it either you are self proclaimed complainer for the people who are in lidigation or like a old lady that gossips and starts rumors to get attention. i say its probley the later.
