I just read on the trains news wire that proscatuers are going to try to give. The guy that killed 11 people in that derailment back on. Jan 26 when he drove on to the train tracks and then decided not to die but frogot to move his truck before a southbound mertolink train came and struckit sending that train in to a parled Up train and then sending that into a northbound metrolink train. But he said that he did not mean to kill anyone when he did this. So now what does everybody else thinks about this news.
The newswire article stated that prosecutors were seeking the death penalty. Not surprisingly, the defense attorney said the death penalty was inappropriate “in his opinion” because the wreck occurred due to an aborted suicide attempt.
This is pretty normal pre-trial wrangling going on. What this tells me is that the District Attorney is not going to cut a deal for a guilty plea… and that the Defense Attorney would really, really like to plead his client out to a lesser series of charges. (11 counts of murder in the first degree is a pretty big set of charges to try and defend against.)

It wasn’t a suicide attempt! The idiot was trying to impress his girlfriend[:(!][:(!][:(!]!
According to MSN’s news, he had doused the vehicle with gas before he drove it onto the tracks, and then ran away, he should be accorded the same fate as those people he killed, I think he should be executed painfully, and slowly…But I guess since that is California, stupidity will have its own reward, some smooth mouth lawyer will get him some time in prison and then he will be released early, as rehibilitated…
I’ve always thought that a murderer should be executed the same way he killed his victims!
I guess he did!!!
Too bad they don’t still have the electric chair…

Waste of electricity.

Interesting idea. We could sit him on the track in Baring Missouri just as the Southwest Chief comes through at 90 miles an hour…[^][^][^]
TG will second that motion![8]
Just my opinion, but some of you guys are over the edge with your own selves.
Just because some jerk is beside himself with sadistic insanity, is NO REASON whatsoeverr for all of society to lower itself to that same LOW level.
If the accused is to be euthanized and LAWFULLY convicted, then they need to be put to death in the most painless, efficient method possible. And we DON’T need to devize threatrically horrendous means to kill them strictly for the amusement value of the sidwalk superintendants of the world. If you are that addicted to theatre than I suggest you move to Greece (and join the navy, rofl)
Remember, innocent men are still convicted, and that could include any one of us.
In the even that it did, the one saving grace might be that at least the means of putting you out would entail minimal suffering.
That last think you’d wanna see is a bunch of guys wringing their hands in anticipation saying they were going to peel the guy with pliers then roll him in salt before drowining him in a vat of beer barf…
Quick everyone…hide your sense of humor.
NO! Really! I was serious! If we let these guys get away with stuff they’ll probably just do it again sooner or later. Sure, he may have not meant to do it, but remember, HE DID!
Try sitting in the defendants chair for something you absolutely didn’t do, while realizing that not a dam person on earth believes you, or even cares that you are innocent, then tell me how sharp your sense of humor is feeling. The pack mentality for conviction is an ugly emotion, not at all something good, or even funny.
I realize that is different from the guy in California, but still I don’t think that justice is anything to be taken lightly…
Lets not forget how justified the judge, jury, and executioners felt back in Salem.
I think someone here wants this guy to go free no mater what. I STILL do not think someone could do something like this by accident. I know it COULD happen but geez…he wrecked two commuter trains. Didn’t they say he tried to stab himself before he drove onto the tracks? And I don’t believe he “forgot” his car was on the tracks…not even for one second.
By the way, did he say he didn’t mean to do it? He said he didn’t want to kill anyone, yes, but he DIDN’T say it was an accident.

Why would’nt we want to see that[xx(]?
Your right TG we should sit him on a set of train tracks down where you live or up in my neck of the woods you know where the CP runs or even When the Empire builder comes though then he could feel what a train feels like when it hits him at oh say 95 or 100 mph then it would be one less person sitting on death row [:D][:D][:D]

Well if you’ve been convicted of murder and are gonna be executed that Empire Builder is a much faster death that the electric chair or lethal injection… I think California might still use the gas chamber… but anyway the train option would be a much quicker way to go. And we’ll spend less tax dollars to keep him on death row.
