Though Christmas is two and a half months away, I wanted to ask this before SpaceMouse did because I’m sure he probably has it down on his list of topics ([:p]) (Sorry Chip).
So what’s Santa bringing you this coming Christmas ?.

hmm… Never thought I would say this, But I am actually hoping for some coal!
Well, okay, I should hope he just adds that to the little bits within the stocking [8D]
How 'bout a job? After that a cool DCC system would be neat.
I’m also hoping that he works it out so that my five Sailors in my reserve unit in Falluja (sp?) can be home for Chirstmas with their families.
Sore subject with me.My whole family knows I’m a train nut. When they ask me what I want,I’m very specific about what gauge I model and what road names to look for.
It never fails, I end up with cloths or a gift certificate to non hobby store. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but why ask if your just going to take the attitude that trains are silly.
I wind up paying for it all - So I just get what I want! Gifts from the family are the usual clothing type stuff. For a few years, my Mother ‘bought’ me renewals to my magazine subscriptions. I just order the subscriptions through ‘netmag’ online now(much cheaper).
If I were to ‘wish’ for something ‘railroady’ - How about the pair of electrified Milw caboose lanterns I saw at a train show a while back($375/pair). Would look nice on either side of the fireplace!
Jim Bernier
I’m gettin one of these…
Hopefully . . . Peco N scale turnouts, and lots of them. I still need about 60 for the new layout, and their cost is the one major hurdle holding me back.
Ron
A BLI K-4. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YYYYEEEAAAHHHHHH!
Most likely it will be some dodads, cars or other stuff that is about 40 years too modern to run on my layout but had better be in plain sight if the giver happens to come to visit without warning… Actually I like the role of being like Santa (well actually Nicholas, Bishop of Smyrna) better.
New gutters downspouts for the house… $750
Crown for second molar… $910
painting and sealing the Basement walls… $600
Electrical work needed on house… $1200
This morning taking five boxes of pots and pans, mugs, kitchen utensils, and stuffed animals to a local agency to be given to families moving into the area that lost everything in the recent Hurricaines… PRICELESS!
The hints and ordering info are out for me to get a Bowser Challenger Kit. [:D]
Now, will she follow through?
A nice new 2-6-6-6 from Rivirossi
A nice new 2-8-4 Berkshire with a Tsunami decoder (fingers crossed) from LL
And a nice new 14 x 32 room dry walled for my trains. It will indeed be a good Christmas indeed
How about a lower gas bill. Our natural gas company announced a rate increase of up to 36% over the next couple of years, because of Hurricane Katrina.
Carey,
How about a nice warm sweater to help with the natural gas rates?
Oil based electric heaters do wonders to save money when you only need to heat a small part of your house at a time. (IE: bedroom) Last year I saved 33% by lowering the thermostat to 60F during the day, and 55F at night, and spot heating the rooms I use. This year I expect to save more with the increase in gas cost.
BLI SW-7 NYC w/sound and just in case they run out I also preordered the LL SW-8 NKP w/sound so maybe I will get both by Xmas. Of course with the current track record of BLI I may be getting it for Xmas 2006.
Terry and WILMA for now
I am working that strategy for some Genesis warbonnet F7s from the LHS. I am also trying to lay it out for an Overland Hi Level lounge. We’ll see!!!
I’m still waiting for the Broadway Limited sound-equipped stock car Santa promised me for Christmas 2003 - BLI (last I checked) still said it would come out October 2005 so maybe I’ll get in time for this Xmas?? [:D]
A Bowser PRR G5 kit and some old issues of Railroad Magazine .
Well, last year I was hoping for the BLI Santa Fe 2-10-2, which didn’t happen. So, come June, I thought I’d get me one for Father’s Day. Didn’t happen. Aimed for this Christmas. Ain’t gonna happen, BLI, after over a year of delay on this loco has announced it for February of '06. I’m sorry, I don’t believe them, anymore. So I’m going to haunt train shows and the internet and see if I can come up with another one of these:
At the rate BLI’s going, I’ll probably have better luck.
Tom
Probably nothing train related [sigh]
However, Mariska Hargitay (Law&Order SVU) would be nice![:-,]
