A lot can happen between here and October. As the date draws closer, hopefully many citizens will turn up the heat on our senators. One of the big issues will be the hundreds of employees that will lose their jobs. Taxpayers will still have to foot the bill.
On another positive note, NARP is drawing more support from groups. So Amtrak is not going down without a fight.

Couldn’t agree more! That’s the ONLY thing we have left is to communicate with our representatives and senators. Unfortunately, in my opinion, e-mail has really bogged down the channels of comms - the written word in the old fashioned envelope with a stamp gets their attention moreso. I know this from experience … they just cannot and will not respond to e-mail’s by the zillions …

Well back to the origonal topic, the thing to complain about, is that there will no loner be a national rail network, there will no way to get from D.C to philidelphia at 180 mph without checking bags and doing anoying security procedures. Thats what theres to complain about that is why i will be complaining!
