Some layout pics

This being my first layout, I see alot I would do different, but I am pleased thus far with the progress of it . The second image shows where I had to get creative because the sound decoder didn’t fit by like a 1/32" I had to cut a small hole in the top of the tender and I covered it up with some crates and barrels. I got the idea from the Real SY Mikado 2-8-2 in NJ where they were storing their stuff in the same spot… they had their tool boxes, water jugs and lunch boxes.

Nice stuff, cactusjaws! Very nice. I like your tie-mill! Looking forward to more images from you

That is a nice first time. As a fan of clutter and detail, I like what you did. Also a nice back drop. I don’t remember what scale you are in. You also have a nice feel for rocks and under brush. That could be better, but is certainly better now than many of us. Thanks for the pics.

Great job! Keep it up. I really like your backdrop mountains and sky. Any hints on how you did it? Hal

The background is nothing magical, I have access to plotters where I work, I can plot up to a 150 foot long backdrop if I wanted.

Very nice picture of your layout cactusjaws, I myself are starting a layout hope it works.

Good job and some nice work there. Love those Mikado’s.

Regards,

[:D]First of all if this is your first layout, great job,

Next I would like to see a little more dirt and grime on your enginens and tenders.Your little crossway bridge needs stained, and dirty those buildings up.You have and old feel for the time period but everything looks out of the box.YOU CAN DO IT…COMEON,GET DOWN AND DIRTY…

You are right I only lightly weathered the Baldwin 4-6-0 and 75% of my rolling stock.
I will be weathering the Mikado, have not had the time yet.
Thanks for constructive critisizm…

Your doing an excellent job there I can’t weight to see more pics
