hey! neat picture gave me an ideah of what im gonna do to, i got an 10’x19’ layout but im gonna divide it with a back drop and one side is a mountain scene with a coal mine. how did you get your grades? im gonna use woodland scenics risers is that good?

Go for the whole building and use the four walls as flats instead.
Complete buildings usually cost about $10 more than the cost of the background building. You get up to 75% more building material in some cases. Most backgrounds only give you one wall.

i’m very impressed with your backdrop. I think it has just the right amount of detail to look good but not jump out at you too much and distract you from the layout itself.
Thanks for all of the comments. I set my grades by using the Woodland Scenics risers. I also got a level from Micromark that measures grades and expresses them in percentages.
With respect to the background buildings, I am principally using walls of complete kits or I am scratch building them. The tire factory is almost complete, but I have not had a chance to add a photo yet.
what a surprise seeing our familiar dutch “Sprinter” (the official name for the commuter train) on your layout next to the homebred trains. Enjoyed the pictures very much.
Don’t know of your blocks under the bridge are temporary or not but you might want to replace them with wood before putting in the scenery. Over time that styrofoam is going to either break up or get grooves in it messing up your allignment.
