Here are a few pix of the Modoc Northern taken this winter:

Leaveing Alturas for Lakeview, the house in the background is the Schluter ranch were my mom’s woodworking shop is.

With some storm light the same train procedes northward.

A couple days later passing through Tulelake (MN headquarters).

A caboose that still has its ladder? Hmmm.

Looks a little chillier than Chula Juana was, eh?

This is a railroad I really want to see and shoot. Thanks for the taste, just cements my want in place that much more!

From what I have seen (/ saw) the MN is doing OK traffic wise, unfortuneately they seem to be plaged with derailments on the Alturas-Lakeview segment.

I’ve seen Modoc Northern power at NRE in Dixmoor, and I must say they have a great looking paint scheme. Great shots!

Was that the SD9s they have been waiting for ?
