Some Night Photos from Philadelphia

Here are some photos I shot at work last night…

CSXT 8610 sitting on the ready track preparing to depart:

Headlight from CSXT 5213 reflecting off the rail as it rounds a curve:

And CSXT 5213 waiting at the tower for the recrew:

Here’s the Philadelphia skyline from the roof of my tower:

Thanks Nick. I used to live in Chalfont and traveled the entire Philly are quite a bit so I really appreciate these shots.

I don’t get out during dark hours very often, but love things like the 2nd photo - you can see the train coming before you actually see the locomotive. Kind of like the thrill before opening a present.

What tower are you working at - Arsenal?

From the B&O CPL signal that displays Stop in picture #2…It would be RG Tower the former B&O, now CSX headquarters in Philadelphia.

BaltACD is correct. I work at RG Tower. Although, there is no longer an operator, the tower still houses the Eastside Yardmaster, and the lower levels have offices for the terminal personnel.

Nick, Does Bob Whitesell still work in your yard? I heard he was moving.

Bob transferred to Cumberland, I believe.
