Some of my model railroading....

hello. Since I recently activated my railimages.com page, and uploaded some pictures of my model trains, I thought I would show you guys what I model, and some of my best work.

This is my Kato Dash 9… I added trainlines, mu cables, painted the grabs yellow, and put grabs on the plow, all to make the loco a bit more prootypical.

Here are my pics…

here is one of my Christmas presents… A Kato UP AC4400CW. I added trainlines, grabs to the plow, and painted the grabs yellow…

my 2 toasters meet [:D]

these are my SD40-2s. I gave them the same treatment as I did the GEs.

and a few of my weatherd cars…

I have some serious grades on my layout [;)]

Comments?? how can I improve???

Its looking great. You probably haven’t gotten around to it but, where is the senery? Otherwise the locos, the cars, and including that great looking bridge all look well done up. thanks for showing.

Not bad work if I say so myself.

I would say another light coating of dirt and grime on the bottom “hoppers” of your covered hoppers and you will be set. I have done alot of model reference photogrohy and it just seems that Hopper cars covered or otherwise always seem to be caked with dirt and grime on their Hopper chutes.

The other suggestion I would make. Start expereimenting with photogrohy lighting. You will be amazed at how much better detail shows up in your photos.

But you do good work. Glad you shared.

James

Hey, thanks ! Yeah, as you can see, I am still @ the plywood central stage. In most of my pics you can see the begginings of scenery, foam, trees, buildings, and plaster… but I just need to put it all together!! [8D][:D] I have focused on my rolling stock for a while and now I will be attacking the layout!

Ohh, and Student of the Big Sky Blue- I was thinking about trying to postition lamps and what not better so I can make the lighting better. I should also try mounting my camera on a tripod to get more of the loco in focus!

looks great…one day it will be sceniced and the days of the “plywood central” will be no more…i’m still in the plywood central stage too but slowely and surely the scenery is going in…chuck

Chris, very nice job. Nice shots as well.

keep up the good work on the detailing/weathering Chris! We better be seeying a scenecied railroad soon[:D][^] Tim

Chris, if you EVER have to sell any of those units, e-mail me first.[^]

Your weathering is nice as well. Subtle.

Matt

I have dibs on the Canada grain car! Can’t wait to see your scenery hen you get it done!

Impressive modeling!

When I clicked this thread I expected some blurry pictures of some guys tycos running around on EZ-track on a grass mat. I’m glad it wasnt the case, instead i got to see some great modeling!

looks good chris! i can’t wait to get started on my layout!

Thanks for all the kind remarks, guys!!! Hopefully I will not have to sell my equipment, as I intend to keep it for a very very long time!! [:D][^][8D][:)][;)] Thanks agian!!! I know I am on the right track!

Now that your locos are nicely detailed, it’s time to get them dirty. They can’t bring in revenues sitting around in a nice clean shop. [(-D]

True…[(-D]…but I am scared to weather them now…maybe in a few years when I have learned to work an airbrush I will try…[;)]

Looks good to me.

Victor

Happy Railroading.[swg][swg]

I’ll have to agree with all of the above - Looking very good! [:D] Keep those pics coming!

I like that DT&I car. Lookin good!

Some awesome stuff there! Once they are weathered they will look even better [:D] Good job!
