Some people...

I was down railfanning (not failfanning as per usual) last night, and I saw some pretty large amounts of stupidity.

I heard 400 coming on the scanner, and I warned the guy on the bridge that a train was coming, but he didn’t care, even when it started coming across the other bridge.

Here is a shot of the first idiot, visible below the locomotive cab: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=246548

His friend managed to join him as I was moving around, and I didn’t see how it was done, and I kind of wish I knew how the ****** managed to do it. [Link removed because of profanity]

Some people, eh?

Did you call the police?

Yes, those two could have been killed. They should consider themselves lucky.

BTW…it would have been nice if you would’ve photoshopped the profanity graffiti off the bridge on the second photo. This is a family forum after all [:)]

Take care,

Russell

Oh i missed it, time to look again

The truly terrifying thing about this is that these two are still participating members of the gene pool!

I think that type of graffiti you see in the pic tells you that the local teens hang out on that bridge alot.

Seems that their little ‘stunt’ was planned. One of those, “I’ll do it if you do it, dude.”

Stupidity is incurable and sometimes fatal.

I wonder what they think those wires are underneath the bridge?

Stupidity should be painful.

If those Stoopids were hurt, or better yet, killed, though, the idiots in the media would be yammering about how the “big mean train chased after those poor, innocent children”, like the dumb woman in FL that is suing FEC for her stupidity.

As far as the Stoopids and the graffiti is concerned, this is just an example of what is wrong with the judicial system - punishment is far too light.

Hopefully the next time something like this happens, the kids get caught and properly punished.

One can only hope…

It seems to me that the noise level under the bridge had to be deafening, (although the probably listen to louder music on the MP3 players[{(-_-)}]) one would think they couldn’t hear for days from that. [swg]

YEAH. COOL, HUH?!?!?

Really heavy metal, man !

If that’s the Bowness CPR bridge, that’s the least amount of kids ever to be on the bridge when a train is coming or not. This is the favorite high diving platform into the Bow river and has been for years and years, surprisingly few fatalities have occured.

If I may be so bold…WHY ISN"T THE RAILROAD DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?

Stop over at the “Woman falls off bridge” thread for a full explanation.

Always remember, the Gene Pool tends to be self-cleaning. If not today…[:-^]

You serious???

It’s someone’s name and the other is too small to read, put down your magnifying glass and get back to work.

As I asked before, did the poster call the police?? The photo looks to be in a fairly rural area so maybe the police would’ve taken a long time to get there, but the photo provides some pretty good evidence and the boneheads may have confessed.

If you see someone doing this - CALL THE POLICE. Maybe the poster did, and if so, good!

This situation reminds me of one I heard on the scanner at Edworthy Park(Calgary) last summer. A Keith Turn or a yard job was returning from Keith to Alyth and he called for the RTC to call the CPR Police to chase kids off that bridge before so and so train was due by. The police car was apparently already on their way on a routine patrol of this bridge and got there within a couple of minutes. Lo and behold there was not a kid in sight. What always amazes me about these people is that while thay are unable to see a No Trespassing sign they can spot a Police Car 10 blocks away through a growth of trees and several rows of suburban homes! That’s it for my first post on Trains Forums.
