some pictures of my layout

hope you enjoy

sorry about the low light and picture quality i was using a horrible camera

please tell me any suggestions or leave a comment

I would consider better lighting and a tripod so we have clearer pictures to look at. It is hard to make any other comments because the pictures are difficult to make out.

But from what I CAN see, I say that you layout looks like a lot of fun.

Looks like an interesting start. It is nice to get to the place where you can run trains.

We love pics here, but quality is an issue. If you can’t really tell what you are looking at it is frustrating.

We look forward to your landscaping ideas and I love to see what people do with trees. I hope to see more as you progress.

I see a few S curves in there. Those may come back later to bite you in the *. You might want to see if there’s any way to eliminate them.

Looks like you’re off to a good start! What area are you modeling? I can see it’s CSX, and the wood-related industries (the lumber mill and the centerbeams) make it look like possibly in the West Virginia area? I’ve always sort of had a sweet spot for CSX, as it was the railroad I grew up around (I was 5 when Conrail was split between CSX and NS so I don’t remember it around here) so I’m always interested in CSX layouts.

Welcome to the forums!

Great start, you’re in for some good fun. Any chance of posting a track diagram, even one hand drawn with pencil. Do you have any run around track? Can’t tell from the pics.

Davidmbedard- arthill- i know the picture quality stinks. i was using my sisters video camera that is a piece of junk but it is all i had.

trainmanty- i hadnt really thought of where my layout would take place i was just freelancing. i also like CSX as you can tell, they run trains where i live and a CSX engine came in the starter kit i purchased.

clinchvalleysd40- here is a picture of my layout in paint

I second Jeff’s comments about the S curves. They are questionable. Just tonight I had to tear up some track that had been glued down to ease the curves. I tested it with a freight cars but it didn’t like my F7.

Looks like you will have a good “working” layout as opposed to one just continously running.

Davidmbedard, and Art Hill. I wouldn’t comment on how poor the picture quality is on this layout.

The following 3 members took great offense and complained loudly in the WPF thread when the same subject was broached then.

We should all be careful not to hurt their feelings.
