I was looking through the latest and my first issue of CTT and saw someone had a Neil Young set for sale called Greendale.
I like Neil Young and would like to have a set signed by him, that would definitely be a ‘collectable’ for good nostalgic reasons considering my past. Neil Youngs songs have a lot of meaningful happy memories to me.
Pit y about the diesel but you cant have everything!
I believe the hubub was over the political nature of the set.
And lets not get that started over here, please.

In his review of the concert, Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune notes that Greendale is “…stuffed with ideas, in many ways a summation of everything Young has stood for in his fascinating career: the nurturing strength of family, respect for elders, the sacredness of nature and youth, the corrupt invasiveness of political and economic institutions, and the power of a really loud guitar to cut through all the distraction."
The Greendale Train Set represented some of the concepts and characters from the “Greendale” concert and subsequent film.

I predict that the GREENDALE set will be a collectors item one day, just like the Girls train set from the 50’s. Take that to the bank. Buy a few for your retirement[:D]
I LOVE the Greendale CD. It has it’s hypnotic moments…and certainly speaks to the above review!
I like “Greendale” as well, especially the DVD of Neil’s solo acoustic “Greendale” concert from Dublin which came with my edition of the CD. Absent the props of the “electric” Greendale tour, he told the story of “Greendale” leading into each song. And the sound of those Martin Guitars…!

When you buy the set it comes with a Greendale Honorary Certificate signed by Neil Young.

There are several “greendales” Concert CD’s, Concert DVD’s and the actual Greendale “movie” DVD.
I’m not sure what the “politics” has to do with the trainset.
My sister has a Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan repainted passenger car… That’s about as political as a train can get [;)]
