Sometimes it pays to visit the LHS

I happened to be at home today, and up relatively early, so I decided to head over to my LHS (which happens to be Trainland) just to look around at what was in stock, not really intending to buy anything. By the time I left, I was taking $170 worth of equipment with me.

For one thing, I found 3 Walthers Horizon cabs in NJ Transit paint, and one NJT-paint Horizon coach. I hadn’t been able to find those online anywhere, so I promptly snatched up all of them. As I was waiting on line to pay for the coaches, I saw a great deal on Bachmann Spectrum E-33s, for $50 (Walthers lists it at $130). Throw in a nice batch of Kadee #5 couplers, and I should be all set for a while.

Sometimes it pays to visit the LHS,…and sometimes it costs!

Sounds like you made a good haul!

especially when you find something out of production that you weren’t looking for -i’m not telling you who my LHS is (you’ll snatch up all the good deals) but i found an Atlas FP7 yellow and silver santa fe warbonnet for $cheap it looks vintage hope it works i have to wait to chrstmas to open it. also i found two open hoppes in the “bargain bin” for $6.00 each with kaydee couplers!(they disappeared faster than a pizza at a weight watchers convention)
