Soo Line 2-8-2 No. 1003 to appear at holiday event
When Santa is involved its a Christmas event.
Hope she runs some excursion next year.
The loco is beautifully restored and maintained, but the TWO cabooses that usually accompany the loco are even better! Restored to period with all equipment with beds made up and complete with oil lamps. They are a sight to see lit up in the evening!
Great to see that the 1003 will be in steam again, she’s been a great ambassador for railroading in Southern Wisconsin, drawing crowds wherever she goes. Lets hope WATCO allows her to roam the WSOR again.
I sure wish they could run these 1003 trips on days that do NOT conflict with Trainfest.
Wish they would bring her here to Waunakee. I can’t ride the train due to my wheelchair, but I’d sure like to see the 1003 again.
Seems a shame to bring it out and fire it up for just 3 hours – and go nowhere. Couldn’t someone have sponsored some trips that weekend, or something. I’d love to see it run.
