I am in the process of taking my first adventure in trying to detail an engine of mine. The items I am planning is adding fire cracker antenna, operating ditch lights & rotary beacon. As I am looking at a drawing at http://www.sooline.org/publications/drawings/locomotives/SD60/SD60.jpg . I see the items and placement I am looking to do. But I am not sure of the item that is placed toward the very front of the roof before the antenna. Can anyone help me with this item? Thanks for the help as always!
Can’t say for sure, but I believe that is another antenna, probably for the end-of-train device. Check Details West or Detail Associates, they’ve probably got the part, or you could make your own out of wire.

I’m not sure about this, but I don’t think SOO had rotary beacons on there SD60s. On the SD60, and GP38-2s I’ve seen they had a smaller one that flashed, not sure what it would be called. I could also be wrong with this; they may have had rotary beacons on there earlier order of SD60s.
