Looking for an HO details parts list for Soo’s SD-60’s and 60M’s. Rail Model Journal ran an article in their August 1991 issue on the SD-60’s but no back issues are available. I would be more than happy to pay for any copying costs.
First off I guess it’s gonna depend on whose SD60 you’re gonna start with. If you use a P2K from Life Like the only other part that you’re gonna need is an all weather window. All of the other parts are included in the details pakage. Although if you want lit ditch lights then you’ll have to get those too. The one’s that come with don’t light up.
Second if you want good pictures for reference and a good history I would highly recommend a soft cover book called, " EMD’S SD60 Series" by Withers. If you’re a SD60 modeler like I am it’ll be worth every penny. The binding is broke on mine I’ve looked through it so much. It’s full of really good roster shots and even fold out drawings. The roster shots came in real handy when I detailed my two SOO SD60s that I painted in the Candy Apple Red paint scheme. (It does also have alot of roster shots of the white and red SD60s too, and some 60Ms) It also has the history of each railroads order and specs and is really interesting.
