I have a compressor that did not come with a regulator so I added my own still no luck I can’t ajust the pressure down to what I need I even added a second regulator rambo1…
Curious…are you using a dual output regulator? Some regulators have 2 outlets. one constant full pressure & one regulated. if so, you might be connected to wrong outlet
another thought, some regulators are directional…in other words make sure the airflow is going from compressor to the IN of the regulator
All regulators I have used are clearly marked with “In” or an arrow showing direction of air movement though the regulator.

Also make sure the pressure gauge is on the output side of the regulator.
If what you bought looks like this, it’s not a true regulator.

You need something that looks like this.

How about telling us which particular brand and model of air compressor you bought. That way someone can find an on-line picture of it and possibly determine if there is something special or different about it.
I have spent some time in shops where there is a compresser. you have two options…
-
go to the local hardware store that sells compressers with owner’s manual and ask.
-
go to your local auto paint supply place and ask about a regulator (and ask about a air-oil seperator to airbrush with. )
Hope this helps ya.
