Where can I get the Horn (I beleve its a K5LLA not sure) and electronic bell for a C45ACCTE. Im getting a new decoder from loksound but it doesnt have the right horn and bell. Here an example of what im talking about. (sounds) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aK8ntgwqMO0
Hopefully, someone with personal experience as a LokSound installer, such as David M. Bedard, will chime in here, but I think only sound files from ESU in Ulm, Germany, the makes of LokSound will work, and you have to have the Lok Programmer, which costs over $100, to change the sound files in their decoders.
It’s my understanding that the LokProgrammer works only with LokSound decoders and the QSI Programmer works only with QSI decoders. I don’t understand why someone can’t come up with a programmer that works with different brands.
Your first step is to find a clean audio. You can even extract audio from flash files.
You then need to use a program like Wavasaur (I think I spelled that right) to splice the file into 3 parts (Begining, Loop and End). The trick is the loop…it has to sound like a continuous sound when you are looking it. Next, you need to resample the sounds into the sample rate that is required by the locomotive.
This, of course, is assuming you have the LokProgrammer…or you can pay for someone to do the work for you [;)]
