Well, if you want a drop in, I think MRC makes one. Now, I am not suggesting that is a good solution, but that is what is available as a drop in.
With some work, you can get a decoder worth while in there like a Tsunami AT-1000 or a QSI Revolution.

Thanks david. I think I have a digitrax with a sound bug hook up in one of the rs-1. Is the soundbug any good?
Hi Mike: I’m in the process of installing a Loksound in my RS1, like Wolfgang Dudler did. He has a tutorial on his web site. Litchfield Station shows the installation of two drop in decoders, Soundtraxx DSD-AT 100 LC, and TSU-AT 1000 Tsunami. QSI has a Revolution drop in, also. All with 6 cyl. 539.DJ.
thanks
Mike
I have two Athern RS-3’s with MRC drop in decoders and one works perfectly and the other needs to have the side frame contacts soldered instead of those dopey clips. I don’t see too much difference between the Altas/Kato RS -1’s &RS-3’s I have but I will be totally honest it will be a crap shoot using the MRC decoder.
I am going to opt for the TCS decoder and sound bugs in my Atlas/Kato units, the biggest issue I see is craming the speaker in there.
Thanks for the tips everyone.
