Sound Decoder for GP28

I’m in the process of building a GP28 and I need a sound decoder; any ideas for a good one?

i dont know much about them, but soundtraxx makes quite a selection.

SoundTraxx makes the best after-market sound decoders. Check their Web site to see if they make one specifically for model of locomotive you have. http://www.soundtraxx.com

Soundtraxx, as others have suggested, does make a nice decoder. I’m assuming that since you’re doing a kitbash and dropping the extra coin for a decoder that you’re interested in “being prototypical”. That said, you may already know that the GP28 was a non-turbocharged GP35. In fact, the GP28 was more like a GP9 mechanically-speaking due to the use of the blown 567 prime-mover. If you get a GP35 decoder, the turbocharger whine will be unprototypical, but the sound for a EMD early diesel (particularly the GP series) ought to be dead-on!!

Happy bashing!!

Oh yeah, and post some pics of your work!
