Sound decoder for Whitcomb 44-ton diesel

Is there a sound decoder suitable for an HO model of a 44-ton Whitcomb diesel-electric locomotive that produces sounds resembling dual 180 h.p. Caterpillar D17000 diesel engines?

LokSound has the Caterpillar D17000, it is 72843. You can hear it on their website.

Hi Mark,

Take at look this nice video clip of a sound equipped HO centercab switcher at work. The modeler did a very nice job with the layout scenery and locomotive.

That’s an interesting little whistle sound. I don’t know which decoder he used, but you could e-mail and ask him.

Thanks, Antonio. The modeler did a great job and the movie has good “in street” scenes, both on and off the trains. I recognize the track configuration from a shelf-layout plan from Model Railroader.

Hello Mark,

That video I believe was by Wedudler, from Germany, I don’t know him personally, but he is a regular on the forum. He really does some really nice work. I think he used Lok-sound on that 44 tonner. That horn/whistle was an air whistle, I think they might have been standard on the 44, 45 tonners, don’t know for sure.
