Morning all. I’m getting ready to DCCify my Atlas GP7s. They’ll be my first wired controller install, but it looks fairly straight forward :-).
Since I’m going through the effort, I’m wondering if it’s possible/worthwhile to put sound in these engines too. They’re N scale, so I’m thinking maybe a DSD090 and one SoundTraxx’s 3/8" speakers. Looking at the space in the frame, several questions come to mind:
- Is this even possible? Space looks to be very tight (yes, yes, I know, it’s N).
- Is it worth it? Will such a small speaker sound like crap? I don’t have any sound equipment yet, so have no sense of what to expect here.
- Will I have to entirely sacrifice the light boards to do this?
Any input is appreciated. Figured I’d ask before I bought anything.
