I received my sound trax in the mail to day,It is an old one inst says to hook up a brown wire to CHAFF CAM this cam seems to be on one of the drivers of an loco.OK here is the problem I understand what it is for can I build a cam my self??The brown wire makes and breakes contact on the back of the driver at least that is what I think ? how does this thing work??The bell,whistle,and air,couplers all sound good I’am running DCC.just got to have the CHUG!

If you have a Soundtraxx DSD-100LC steam sound decoder, you can adjust the chuff rate with CV116, no cam is really necessary. I have several installed in various steamers from Pennsy 4-6-2 to a N&W 4-8-4, they sound okay to me. The DSX decoders are different. I can’t speak to the steam versions as I only have one for ALCO diesel sounds.

Ok It is an soundtraxx DSD -050,K36 no. 484, .5amp any way It my be that I’am useing an EZ command DCC ther are two brown wires sould I just disregard them?
