A few days back, we had an fantastic sunset in the Puget Sound area. It seems like some of the best sunsets are the ones you don’t expect. So it was that evening and I was forced to find a train subject close at hand. Sounder was the only available subject. So with this majenta sunset as a background, you can see a Sounder train crossing an old Milwaukee Road trestle, with Freighthouse Square and the Tacoma Dome as interesting props.
Geez, yet another very nice piece of art - good composition. Once again, “fortune favors the prepared !” Thanks for sharing - please keep them coming ! Very pleasing and inspiring as something to shoot for (emulate).
Nice that you even worked in the side of the trestle below the train - that’s not all that common, either. I presume it was headed away from you ? Again, good job of working with that as well -not a common angle.
I missed the going away shot, as it headed into the station, the sunset was just about at it’s peak then. In this shot the train is headed to the coach yard behind me.
My processing involves using a plug-in called Velvia Vision from Fredmiranda.com. It has a feature for increasing dynamic range, which helped to pull out detail in the shadows, but not blow out the sky.
