Source for Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 and 2-10-0 Rubber Drive Belts

Bachmann Philadelphia has advised that no rubber drive belts for the 2-8-0 and 2-10-0’s are currently available, and to “try me back in a couple of months to see if they came in”. The belt price is $2.00 each (p/n 00036).

I have a 2-10-0 with only a few running hours on it that has a frayed loose belt that will need early replacement.

My LHS is also looking for a supply of these belts.

Interestingly enough the parts list for my latest purchase, another 2-8-0, does not list the belts seperately, only listing a complete motor set (H11405), comprised of a motor/flywheel/belt and worm gear assembly.

Since the Grizzly Northern now has three 2-8-0’s and three 2-10-0’s, I’m keen on getting support spares soon, without the expense of buying complete motor assemblies.

Can anyone recommend a source for genuine belts?

The only place you will get “genuine” is Bachmann. I suggest going over to the Bachmann forum and ask there as that is where most of the Bachmann fans hang out. They have people who know all the ins and outs of Bachmann
