Source for fiber optic strand

Greetings from Denver!

I want to build an N-scale municipal fountain using side-glow fiber and an LED multicolor light fixture that I salvaged from a hot tub, but I’m having trouble finding a source for a small quantity of very thin (1mm or less) side-glow fiber.

There are sources that would sell me a 100’ spool, but I need a bit less, maybe two feet at most.

Anyone have a suggestion?

I like these guys: http://www.thefiberopticstore.com/purchase/index.htm They’re modeler oriented, see their Galley. You can buy whatever you need, no minimums.

If you have to buy more than you need to get what you want, divide the leftovers and repackage it and sell it on ebay etc.
