Source of inspiration?

I saw a photo of this on a local PBS channel the other day and “Lionel!” jumped right into my head!

So what do you think? The Lionel 840 power station?

If the photo was from Jersey NO QUESTION

Recently a power plant near me was torn down though not the same it was built prewar took a year to take it down

And speaking of New Jersey

Was at a sale in New Jersey met someone who’s father worked at Lionel drove through Irvington ended up going throgh Holland Tunnell and drove past Murray

st 23 rd st and 26th ALL Lionel related

was it not so late in the day would have tried to find Irvington site

Ford’s Highland Park plant was in Michigan. Just outside of Detroit. They built Ford tractors there.

It’s possible. On a TM video journalist and toy train collector Ron Goldman states “Leaving Chicago on the Indiana Toll Road if you look out the window to your left there’s a power generating station that’s a dead ringer for the Lionel Power House.”

Remarkable. Could be Lionel copied a generic look for a power house for the toy version.

If it didn’t inspire the Lionel accessory, then perhaps it is based on the one that did. It certainly resembles the accessory quite a bit. I vote “Yes”!!!
