Since I was out a couple of days ago, it got my blood pumping again to
go train hunting some more. So I took the afternoon off and went out
for more trains. There was still a little snow on the ground but with
the temperatures rising it was melting quick.
I enjoyed the photos, my favorite was the B/W of CN 396. That trains passes thru Valparaiso and is usually a monster train. Do you recall how many cars were in the today’s train? I think it stops in Champaign to pickup cars en route to Toronto.
There used to be a little hamburger joint on the the northside of town on the main street (US51) on the one way southbound street. I stopped there often back in the 90’s for lunch. Do you ever stop in there…cant remember the name of the place right now. Great place.
I didnt notice any shots of the CSX line. Do you ever get any shots of it. Love those CPL signals.
CN #396 was a fairly long train, but I was unable to count how many cars there were.
Would that hamburger place be “Burger Haven”? That is the only place I can think of.
The CSX line doesn’t go through Centralia, it goes East and West about 10 miles North of Centralia at Sandoval. And no, I don’t get up that way too much unless I go towards Salem.
