Southern Indiana Railroad and L&I

Does anyone have any information on when the small Southern Indiana Railroad goes to work at Speed? I have heard it is fairly early. I am heading KY for the race next weekend and would also like to hopefully find the new L&I units. Do they run a job out of Columbus that goes to Jeffersonville durin the day?

the SIND goes to work between 7 and 8am EST. They go to the Esssroc plant in Speed to do some switching and will pick up the loads for the trip to Watson which is about 5 miles or so away. They swap the loads for empties and return to Speed. This is a Monday thru Friday operation, no weekends and the power is stored indoors when not in use.

LIRC is running south from Columbus to Jeffersonville in the later part of the morning, I think they are arriving between 9-11am. Currently 2 of the new GP38M-3’s are on the property, LIRC #2001 and 2004, with #2004 just being delivered on June 23. #2002 is enroute via NS after they mistakenly didn’t drop the unit in Louisville a few days ago. If all goes well it should be here by the coming weekend.
