Southern Pacific movement rules

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the SP and ATSF ran contrary to the norm in the Tehachapi Loop area, i.e. on the left side of double track (like autos in England). Does anyone know if the Espee ran like this elsewhere, or was Tehachapi the lone exception to the rule? (I am especially interested in their track movements in Oregon.)

The reverse-running location is Cajon, not Tehachapi. Since the two tracks were built at different times, the left-hand track had a (slightly) easier grade uphill. In many places, the two tracks are widely separated. There are flyovers at both ends of the grade to get everything back to normal.

Much of Tehachapi is single track. Those places which have double track are operated right-hand rule. The loop itself is a passing siding.
