Southern Pacific Passenger cars

Hi,

I search Passenger car for my GS-4 Daylight #4449.

I think that i need streamlined car. MTH and Athearn RTR build it but it diffilcult too find.

MTH seems good but most expensive than Athearn RTR. I have a Bachmann GS-4 Daylight, can you tell me if the quality of Athearn RTR is approximates the same that the locomotive or i need to buy the MTH to have the same quality.

If you kown other brand and where to buy it i am very interested.

Thanks

Sorry for my poor English

First of all, welcome to the forum!. I can’t attest to the quality level of the Bachmann locomotive as I’ve never seen one up close. I own one of the Broadway Limited locos and the quality is very good. The Athearn RTR cars leave quite a bit to be desired IMHO. They are too short and lack many details. Athearn also made one 77’ chair car in Daylight paint scheme in their Genesis line http://www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATHG97108 but so far they’ve made no others. These are much nicer than the ones in the RTR line. You can still find them in many shops. I’m not a big fan of MTH due to their business practices (read tendency to sue other manufacturers) so I’m waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the Broadway Limited Daylight cars http://www.broadway-limited.com/spcoastdaylight1953-2.aspx that are supposed to start showing up in June.

Happy to have you on board. I too stay away from MTH, mainly cost and other things, but Broadway Limited cars at Factory Direct and Train World have some. Two coaches I know of and more are coming. Athearn has 72 foot cars, and you might check Rapido and go on line at CMT.com and check out their inventory of Rapido cars.

Good luck.

Thanks to all of you !

Need to buy know
