What ever happend to the 4501 I heard it will never run again.
I think it is on display at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga TN.Last I heard it didn’t run anymore because it was just worn out.

…I hope I’m thinking about the correct engine…Believe that’s the one in Southern “green”…if so, it was here in Muncie…must have been back in the 80’s and it was a beauty. I’d have to hunt up my pictures I took of it at that visit to be sure. Too bad some of these steamers are not in shape to run anymore…611…1218…and the above unit…but some still are and now it seems 765 has come to life again…and believe 587 out of Noblesville, In. is still runable…and all of the above have visited here on NS track, mostly in the 80’s era…Most probably will not make another appearance again…
There has been one or two others pass through here too on their way to some other destination in the past…
It’s at TVRM in Chattanooga. There is some info in a video clip here:http://www.tvrail.com/pages/explore/virtualtrip.php
They need about $150,000 to do a restoration.
