I remember many summer days riding the tender of 4501 pushing the coal down to the fireman.

I was 25 in 1966 when I saw and rode with 4501 out of Richmond. I am now 70, and I look forward to seeing her run again! My beloved favorite, long live the 4501!

I was just looking at film tonight of 4501 on it’s debut run from Sterns, KY to TN.

Yes but will the PUBLIC be allowed to actually ride behind these engines [I’ve been wanting to ride behind 4501 for decades] or will we be, in the words of the song, “just standing by the track with our hat in our hand”??
