This coming July I’ll have a couple of days to wander from Denver to Green River. Any suggestions on good action and/or photo spots? Anyone have current train counts? Thanks in advance.
Speer Wyoming just south and a little west of Cheyenne
I posted some pictures in the Soda Ash topic and the Rock Springs one. Theres plenty to see over here. Point of Rocks is a good place, be sure to stay well off the right of way. We’re not afraid to turn people in, there plenty of places to see the Union Pacific with out breaking the law. Check your PM box there buddy, send ya something.
Cheyenne was decent when i was there
i think that you can get shop tours at steam shop. you must visit powder river basin. you will see more coal trains in 1 day then any other day.
Pretty much anywhere along the Overland in Wyoming is a hot spot. West of Laramie you might want to get off the interstate and take to old highway to follow the tracks around Elk Mountain.
And what are you going to send. How about openess in replies and comments instead of vague innuendo?
Not sure I understand this last post, but thanks to the rest of you who replied to my original post. One last follow-up: How is the UP about trackside shooting?
The standard “don’t tresspass” applies as usual. I was out there last year and had no problems, but I didn’t tresspass either. Don’t worry though, there are pleanty of good shots to be had from public areas.
