Southwest Chief Consist

Howdy,

Will be taking the Souhwest Chief to Kansas this week. Does anyone know
what a typical train consist would include, i.e. number and types of cars and
engine(s)?

1 Crew dorm/transition
3 chair cars
1 lounge car
1 diner
3-4 sleepers
0-2 railboxes

  • anything in-transit to the left coast/ LA area

The SWC travels through my home town of Aurora every day (once in each direction) and the vast majority of the time it has three or four units, not two. The CZ has two almost all of the time.
