Can anyone share photos or information on the status of ths unique caboose fromthe 1980’s? Thanks.

Here is some information on it (http://espee.railfan.net/sp_c-50-10.html). It seems like UP had it for sale a few years ago, but I am not sure about that. By the way, according the page that I linked to, it was not a transfer caboose.

I often saw this “transfer” caboose at Roseville. The photo credits make sense. Most through trains came to Roseville, blocked, from Colton, Oakland, Sparks, or Eugene. At Roseville blocks were often rearanged for destinations and for tonnage distribution over the surrounding mountain passes.
