I just saw two of the observations in my LHS yesterday. Still holding for the one with the egine, (and have no money) but dang she’s purty. So get them, get them fast, tell us how they are!

They must be in short supply. My dealers order was a partial shipment and he was informed by email the rest of the order was cancelled. So much for reserving one year ahead of time.
Anyone else have their orders cancelled?

The MTH 8-car sets and coaches are also heeereee. I got the 8-car set Wednesday via a tip, and I saw yesterday that Trainworld has them listed. The BLI’s should be nice, but they’re going to have to go a long way to beat the MTH’s. I have no great love for MT, but these are great looking and performing cars. The diaphragms and vestibules are very well done.

I really think they can match the MTH, but as I don’t have the funds to do a side-by-side, and my LHS does not have and probably will not get the MTH, I"ll await someone to post actual in-hand shots. My preference to BLI is to match the BLI 4449, and that I prefer the not 8 car set because the cost can be spread out. Moot point now, but if I had job (It sucks trying to get work experience with no qwork experience) the spread is much preferable.
Also, I’m probably slightly blinded by the bad taste from the MTH engiens I’ve had aquaintence with, but we hopefully can keep this thread more objective.

I was kinda encouraging someone to post them here for us, since I cannot. I want to hear actual side by side comparisons now that they’re both out.
BLI did this with the last run of CZ cars.
Pity, At one time I had ordered a set, but now I’ve spent all my money on other things so I guess I’ll just do without.
I purchased the BLI observation from my LHS early last week - and it was on sale for only $70! Sweet looking, too.
Um, my LHS’s going price is less than 70…(non-chain) You may need a new LHS

Phoenix is a huge geographic matket so when I say LHS, I mean the only stocking one within 40 miles. Life’s too short to worry about $10 when it will cost me $5 for the gas to save it.
Ouch, Certainly makes sense in that context though.
