We have made this trip several times and I recommend it highly! You don’t get to see big time steam very often, even if it only runs a few miles.
It’s a great time to visit Portland and the surrounding areas as well.
Short trips are better for families because they are often on a budget and kids have shorter attention spans. If I lived in the area, I would probably be ordering tickets.
