SP SD45's

Ok, in the last week, I have seen 2 SD45’s…the first, an unrenumbered, unpatched, beautiful SP Speel Lettered SD45, next a UP SD45, up-to-date scheme…how many of these “take charge” locos are left in the UP roster??

Both locomotives are SD40M-2s, a SD45 rebuilt with the guts of a SD40-2. The Espee acquired 133 of them a couple of years before the UP acquired them. Six of them are former EL SDP45 carbodies, most of the rest are former SD45s from many different railroads.
