SP stole Big Boy

I voted no. It could be true but I doubt it. What do u think>?

No, the two locomotives are not simular except in having two 8 driver engines. The two locomotives have very different fireboxes and I would suspect the Cab Forward has a much smaller boiler becuase it was oil fired. None of the Big Boys were oil fired and the tests that UP tried showed the Big Boys had too big an appetite for oil to keep up with.

Yet another fine example of why polls should be eliminated.

I do not belive it!!! Tim

No.

Happy Railroading.[swg][swg]

They must have brought 'em backwards in time, since the first Cab-Forward articulateds started running in 1910, 30 years before the first Big Boy was built–and the time-travel process must have shrunk them, because the biggest Cab-Forwards were slightly smaller than the UP product.

Bottom line, though, is that the Big Boy and the Cab-Forwards were not the only articulated steam locomotives–and that this is a rather silly poll.

Ok, who belives UP stole the name challenger from the Briti***ank built many years after it?[(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

It might be that the Daylight was named after one of the SP officials finally saw the light.

Those 2 locos aren’t even related.

Hmm, this is a pretty bad poll…who’s for saying the airplane -9 stole it from the loco?

Eliminate your pole if you want. I kinda like it when my wife uses mine.

Sick! Or mabey I just have a dirty mind…[(-D]

Sorry guys, i didnt know that the cab forewards were built before big boys!!! sry this was a bad poll, i heard this from a friend and thought i might post it. Not knowing myself that this could be impossible. sry for being creative and thinking of what if situations.

I forgive you [^]

Hmmm lets see…No don’t care!
How about a poll if we think that drivers on locos should be round or oval?
Randy

We all had fun with it. The only items they really have in common would be the turbo Generator. The Cab Forwards were built by Baldwin and the 4000’s by ALCO and in the days of steam, the appliances would be used by more than one builder.

The first of the 4-8-8-2’s were built in 1928 with the last built during WWII in 1944.

Ineresting locomotive for sure, but it was not copied from any engine that ran on rails in this country.

Maybe just dirty in the sense of weathering…[:D]

SP did not originate the cab forward. The first cab forwards were operated on the South Pacific Coast, a narrow gauge line in California.

LOL[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] On30Shay, you crack me up!!! But you might get flagged by Bergie for being offensive! Tim

We all agree that this is a silly poll, but even folks like aggrojones and espeefoamer will agree…SP RULES!!!
