I’ve decided that I like small old-time, steam S-class switchers–both EMD and Alco–0h ,yeah RS units and Geeps.
I also like Dash-9, Challengers, Mikes, RDCs, Geese and Bullet Trains.
So I am building a prototype railroad that will lease units from the UP, SP, Rio-Grande, Central Pacific, BN, NH, Ma & PA, B&P and hundreds of other roadnames. I will have new and antique rolling stock from 6 of 7 continents, run multiple gauges and can mix trains. Ground breaking will take palce as funds are availible.
Basically this is railroad that if you build a model of it, you can run anything at any time and still be prototypical.
But if you do, you owe me a royalty. I have filed the concept patent.
It’s only a generic/club public domain layout if there is no prototype. I’m going to build the prototype and put UP/NS/CSX/BNSF all out of business. And I’m going to start just as soon as funds become available.
Don’t make me send out the Space Mouse Railway Police.
If you want to make models of any of my locos I’m working on the contracts for those as well.
In my alternate history of railroading, the PG&W ended up buying the following railroads: Oregon Pacific, OR&N, Oregon & California. Unwanted and competing portions not suitable for leasing were abandoned. As a result, UP and SP never got a foothold in Oregon, and the PG&W and TH&B (which had interlocking Boards of directors) had a near monopoly on rail service in Oregon. Eventually, the transcontinentals negotiated track leasing and rights agreements in order to provide Oregon service, which is where the situation stands today.
Taking a cue from the Union Pacific, the PG&W has stepped out even further and declared ownership of trademarks and copyrights for not only all predecessor railroads, but any railroad leasing trackage or service rights from the PG&W, and all their subsidiaries and alliances. This of course includes Space Mouse Railway Systems due to their being in bed with the SP.
Mike Wolf has not paid a visit to the PG&W, nor reached any agreement. Therefore all likenesses, photos, models, decals, or related use of materials of any railroad (or its subsidiaries located anywhere) having service in Oregon owes royalties to the PG&W. Royalties are payable in suitable models to be displayed at PG&W headquarters, or used on the employee model layouts.
So do the right thing, and send your models in.
From an alternate galaxy far, far away
I am Fred Wright - Chief Engineer, Wiper, and jack of all trades for the PG&W
The PG&W Railway Chairman of the Board (Mrs. Wright) has authorized this announcement.
OK and the seventh continent is what? Under Title Nine, a class action suit is being readied to scotch this blantant descrimination in the bud! Mike Wolfe may also marshall his vast resources to put an end to this plan, unless of course you would like to place a huge order for DSC equiped K-4s.
This action may place a severe obstacle in your run for El Presidente as well!
And I thought that my similar yet more all encompassing Great Lake Central concept was a little too over-reaching, I had also covered the concepts for on the moon. Since I thought it up over 20 years ago, (and have most of the protoypes to match) does this mean that I can sue for copyright and patent infringement? Or maybe just a “small” out-of-court settlement…
Hmmm…yoou may have accidentaly stumbled across an unaddressed need here! Thousands of freezing hungry penguin chicks in need of faster commuting of mother and fathers the 100 miles to the sea. Quick lets get a jump on the environmental impact study and line up the wild life groups before UP seizes the opportunity!
How can that be a railroad? You don’t own any equipment or any track. (In a real railroad. Not a model) so how can it be proto-typical? If you don’t have any of that. Unless you want to model the non-exsistant railroad.
