spacing

i don’t live near a hobie shop [150miles one way] i would like to know how close you lay track so you can make it a double run?? i don’t like to buy stuff off the internet so thats why i ask questions thanks for any help

Here is some guidance: http://www.nmra.org/standards/sandrp/s-8.html

HO: 2 inches for track centers on straights, a bit larger than prototypical but it looks better. The minimum in the NMRA standards for curves is just that a minimum, your best bet is to try the spacing with cars that have the longest overhangs and make sure they don’t contact an adjacent train. I personally use 2.5 inches as a minimum on a curve.

Yard spacing is a matter how well you can fit fingers in between the tracks for dealing with rolling stock. Some people like to use 3 inches track centers others might use 2.5 or even 2 inches.
