Spackle for scenery base, possible?

I’m just a little curious. Can spackle be used as a scenery base on top of cardboards strips and masking tape?

Tell me your secret [:D]

I don’t see why not, EL. It would be handled much the same way as mud, hole filler, putty, Hydrocal, etc. You may need to thin it with a tiny bit more water in order to work it on top of the substructure you describe. Just slap a big gob of it where you want it, flatten and shape it, carve in some features, and then watch it dry. Or, if watching it dry doesn’t exactly appeal to you, go on to the next section. [:D]

Lightweight spackle seems to be a nice thing. According to some pages I have seen it will not shrink and is a little flexible once it’s dry. Anyone tried it?

I love to see it dry, hihi…
