Should I get involved [X-)]

Hey! I got one too! I was just going to post the same info. Seems to be a lot of trouble, picking out posters who have links to their e-mail.

I deleted mine before I thought that I should have copied it to abuse@yahoo.com the alternate addreses.

Crap is everywhere I guess.

I sent an email to webmaster at trains.com, it had to come from the forums. I sort of liked the feature, hate to think I am going to have to circlular file those [:(]

I got one too. [tdn]

I got that same thing, what is going on here? People are spamming through trains.com now?

WOW, I feel left out.

I didn’t get one! [:)]

Gordon

[#ditto]from down under. I was about to warn you guys[V]

Ken.

It’s probally, because you guys have your email adress listed.

I didn’t get anything at all (luckily!).

Mark

I can’t wait to start getting my 10%! This should be a snap! I’ll be rich in no time! [:P]

Why are you guys looking at me funny? [:o)]

I already replied, he says I should be trading in Oil and getting a check for 10 mil in a week if I would first send them $10K [bday][(-D][(-D][(-D]

Actually I remember visiting a web site where a guy actually played these type of guys for about 3 months, wish I could remember the site, it was hilarious.

Really? I just sent him an email asking why he wanted me.

I love to annoy soliciters![:D]

Hmm, wonder if I got one. have to check the spam filter.

Good thing the account I list here is the one I have set aside for such things, so I don’t care too much if spam gets in it. My real email, that does not get publicly posted ANYWHERE. And never gets any spam.

The whole thing just will NOT go away - not after what I saw ont he news ticker tonight. Guy sells ALL AOL user names and email addresses to spammers, and gets a paltry 1 year in jail. That guy should never be allowed to access the internet again, EVER! The company he sold them to though, appears to be outside US Jurisdiction, so we can’t do much to them. But there are others they DO know about and have caught - same punishment should be given. Deny these people access, they forfit their privilege by STEALING from others. And it is theft, plain and simple. Theft of my time and everyone else who has to manage filters to block this junk. Theft of my bandwidth, and anyone else who has an internet connection - my spam filter works very well and I see very little get to my actual inbox, but it has to come over MY connection using MY bandwidth to get to MY server where the filter strips it out.
I know I rant alot about this, but I am FED UP with this junk and the continued lack of action by the authorities. This is NOT free speech, that’s an awfully flimsy leg to stand on to defend these thieves.

Gawd, so little return for such a long wait? Send me $5K and I’ll promise a $15M return within four days.

The shame is some are actually duped by this kind of scam.

I remember that web site, that was a brillant con job, about the church not letting the guy have any money until a cheque came from the con-er. I saved it somewhere??

Ken.

Interesting, I pulled my e-mail address after hearing about some scams where addresses were pulled off sites like this. That was just a few weeks after I joined the forum. I didn’t get the message from the spammer… I bet Lotus is right. Give it time, the spammer will go away (like in 2 or 3 years). [:(!]

Yeah, that’s the one, he was a sea captian, even posted his mug, made the guy pose with a fish [(-D][(-D]

It’s a classic!!!

There’s PM’s here?

Maybe one day I’ll check out all the features here!

That’s one of the big reasons I got out of the ISP/hosting business. I had to build new servers to handle the overwhelming amount of spam, it increased almost every day. I would get so bad that the mailhub would start to slow way down, big time on Mondays. Some of the blacklists I used to block out their ISP’s got hammered by these spammers, they are sneaky and very nasty if they think you are out to stop them. I remember eading about some platform off the UK that is

Well, Randy, I’m like you…ticked off at the waste of time, bandwidth, etc, etc, blah, blah. But hey, these crooks need a trade, man. come on…these guys/gals work real hard at coming up with these enterprising ideas (cons) and it takes a lot of hutzpah(?) and cahones of steel to try to shape this bullpucky into something passable. Believe it or not, they MAKE MONEY doing it.
Most folks are smart enough to see through this typical scam. But I just delete whatever the spam filter misses and I get a chuckle at the latest versions, but I really feel sorry for the folks who actually FALL FOR THIS CRAP and send off hard earned savings to these creeps.
As for this coming through Trains.com…get used to that. These creeps will send this tra***hrough whatever gateway they can find. Having other email adresses is one way to avoid “some” spam, but just know that sooner or later, the spam will find you. I have the same address from 12 years ago. I refuse to have more email accounts…too difficult to keep up with friends and business associates and work using just one. More power to you if you like to juggle accounts. Fortunately, my ISP has a very good filter and it allows me to review the crap it filtered out, so I only have the one.
{ I always enjoyed the Nigerian version the best, with all it’s misspellings and really bad sentence structure…}
