I just got one of those Nigerian we have millions of dollars for you e-mails that has a return address of Trains.com.
Has this website been compromised?
I just got one of those Nigerian we have millions of dollars for you e-mails that has a return address of Trains.com.
Has this website been compromised?
Not necessarily. Most spamware will let you put anything you want as a return address. And no spammer will use his own address or domain name in a spam run.
I constantly get bounceback from spam runs where someone has forged the names of domains I own into the return address.
The person who sent it is dohene.
I went to profile page on this website and found the guy who sent it. He just joined today. It came as a private message through the Trains.com website.
I got one also.
Report it.
I couldn’t figure out how to report it. Every “contact us” link that I clicked gave me an error message. So I finally started this thread and clicked the report abuse button on one of my own posts.
That’s a good way to do it. Just be sure to put 'Spam" in the subject line.
I hope that “dohene” is a dirty word, because that’s what he/she/it deserves.
I don’t like Spam.
Just got this, is it the same one?

Yes, that’s it. I elected not to help him out by posting it. The moderators can find it on my private conversations list on my profile if they want to see it.
I just discovered another thread about it. Over on that thread the message has been repeated several times.
I copied and pasted the message that Cudaken got and reported it. I like the way that loser told Cudaken that he would “halve” the money, with 40% for Ken and 60% for Mr. Agyekum**. Sounds like Mr.** Agyekum needs a lesson in math, and a Bill Engval “Here’s your sign” sign for his forehead.
Haven’t gotten one myself but the bucket-o-slime tried to register on my forum.
One of the mods can find his account and put him under moderation. He’ll report his action to Dana or Steve who can actually lock the account.
I thought the Jewish widow from Israel was a hottie (she attached a very fetching photo) three or four years back when she selected me from thousands of eligible candidates to help her get her millions out of that corrupt state. All it cost me was $4k in good-will money to help grease palms, and she has promised me a cool $20k for my troubles. It has been a while…should be receiving it any day now. [D)]
Phooey. I was hoping this was a thread about a SPAM billboard reefer.
I’m still wondering what happened to Tina.[:'(]

Once the ambassador finds an assistant he’ll be able to build a heck of a layout with his cut of the ill-gotten gains!
It has been a long time since I’ve seen one of these. They haven’t gotten any more sophisticated in the meantime. They seem to have gotten a little cheesier though. This one only offered me 40% of $14.5 million for my name and phone number. I’m holding out for 80% and the Ambassador will have to send me his phone number. [}:)]
I got one too and reported it.
I also posted about it in the diner, as did another member.
Recently some people got a “love letter” from “Tina” that was spammed through the system.
This time it appears to be offering money, riches and 40% of the “wealth” of something. It’s hard to understand the poor English.
If Kalmbach doesn’t know aobut it or where/how it is coming through, I am sure they are working on it to be sure the system/site isn’t compromised.
I just do what I did with ANY sort of spam like that that manages to get through to my email inbox. I delete it.
I just got one from the same person. It came into the in box on my GMail account I use for this site. First one that has got into the in box. For at least three years, all the Spam has gone into the Spam folder. This person figured out how to get around the Spam folder. I indicated the message is Spam and sent it on to Google.
Since you cannot fix stupid, I wonder who will answer? Believe it or not, people still fall for this.
